Sandra Morales, Ph.D., has a broad background in microbiology and molecular biotechnology, with specific doctoral training and expertise in bacteriophage science. Sandra has over 12 years of industrial experience developing bacteriophages for therapeutic purposes against a variety of pathogens in the agricultural field and veterinarian and human medicine. As the Vice President of Research for AmpliPhi Biosciences, a public US/AU biotechnology company focusing on bacteriophage therapy, her research emphasis is on preclinical and clinical development of bacteriophage-based products to demonstrate the potential of bacteriophages as a viable antibacterial treatment.
Dr Morales received her B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Los Andes, Bogota, Colombia, her M.Sc. in Applied Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Sydney and her Ph.D. in bacteriophage therapy from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.
