Associate Professor Joanne Devlin is a veterinary graduate from Sydney University. She worked in private veterinary practice in Victoria before starting a PhD in Veterinary Virology at The University of Melbourne in 2003. She was awarded an Australian Research Council (ARC) Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2008 and an ARC Future Fellowship in 2014. Her research investigates the pathogenesis of a wide range of veterinary infectious diseases and she has a particular interest in veterinary vaccine development. Her primary research focus is on animal herpesviruses, particularly avian infectious laryngotracheitis virus (ILTV). She currently works in the Asia Pacific Centre for Animal Health, within the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Melbourne.
