Andrew Brooks

University of Melbourne, VIC, Australia

Professor Andrew Brooks completed a Ph.D. focused on antigen presentation at Flinders University before moving to the Laboratory of Molecular Structure in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the NIH where he developed an interest in natural killer cell biology. He returned to Australia and established a laboratory in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Melbourne primarily focused on immune receptors that regulate the function of NK cells and T cells. He has a particular interest in NK cell recognition of class I molecules and how polymorphisms in both the ligands and their receptors impacts on NK cell function.
